Before I became a work-from-home mom, I worked as an editor. It was my job to make sure that my writers’ words made sense and were grammatically correct. Before that, I was a middle school and high school student with English teachers who loved to diagram sentences and drill grammar rules. Because of this background, I have a pretty solid understanding of grammar basics, so I decided to create this chart. Now that I’m a photographer and am designing cards and announcements of all sorts for clients, I thought it might be useful for fellow photogs who feel less sure about when to use an apostrophe or the plural form of a name. It’s interesting to me to see how few people seem to get it right and I thought that maybe I could present it in a way that was easy to understand. I’m not sure if I succeeded, but I hope somebody out there finds it useful!
